Tree Chopping

The Clark family joined the Harris family and us this year for our Christmas tree chopping experience. We had such a good time! Steve, Harper, and I drove up with the Harris family. It was a beautiful, sunny day (even though I like it better when it snows when we come up here)!
Starting the hike up to the forest!
Melanie, Korver, Brinlie, Harper, Jake, and Brooklyn
Brooklyn & McKenzie
Owen (being grumpy for a minute) & Amy
The babies did pretty good. There were a couple grumpy moments, but they had fun (I'm actually not sure if Korver ever had fun or not).
Harper loved being in the snow! She liked being pulled in the sled, but then decided that she wanted to walk and when she couldn't really move in the snow, she'd get frustrated and didn't want to be held or pulled in the sled. So that was frustrating for a bit. But she got over it long enough to take a picture.
It didn't take us long to find our trees this year. Dave pointed us in the right direction!

I'm not sure what she's doing in this picture, but she makes me laugh!
Since it didn't take long to find our trees, we had a little time and energy left for some sledding!

I went down a really steep hill with Kenzie and it was so scary, my hat fell down over my eyes so I couldn't see where we were going. Then Steve wanted to go down it, so we went down together and I guess I didn't hold my feet up, because from the second we started down the hill to the time we were at the bottom, there was snow flying in my face! It was so cold! I wish someone would have gotten a picture. It was brutal!
Every year we come up here, Steve has to point out his most favorite cabin in the whole world. So this year we made him get out and get a picture by it. He would buy it in a heartbeat if it was for sale.
Then we went to Pizza Villa for dinner and then drove by the Reindeer (or Elk, as some people call them).
We had a great time! I had been looking forward to this day for a long time and it did not disappoint!
