I got the day off of student teaching today to go to Utah State to a Teacher Recruitment Fair from 9:00-2:00. I dropped Harper off at mom and dad's and went up there. It was pretty overwhelming. There are only a couple FACS openings in the valley, but they had people from all over here. I interviewed with Salt Lake District and the lady interviewing me was totally like looking around at everyone else as I was answering her questions, it was super annoying and unprofessional. Then I interviewed with Morgan District, they don't have an opening yet, but they may in the future, so I did that for fun. It was good to get some practice with interviewing and meeting people. It was also nice to have a day off from student teaching! This is about the time school districts start interviewing and looking for people, so I'm getting nervous to have to find a job!
Student teaching is going good. I've been keeping a journal of student teaching and I try to write in it a few days a week. My entry from yesterday says, "Tues Mar 20,12 8:20pm I am exhausted and my body aches! I got home from school around 6:00, checked my email, made dinner, ate, did dishes, and here I am (that is pretty much how it is every day)! Harper is coloring with me while I sit here and write. Student teaching is going good. I really like the teaching part, I just wish I didn't have to stay after every day for hours working on lesson plans. If I could come home when school got out, that would be really nice...someday...when I've been teaching for 10 years maybe I'll be able to do that! It is just exhausting. Tomorrow I get a break from teaching. There's a teach recruitment fair at USU that I'm going to, so that will be nice to not teach and to visit with school districts and see who's hiring. I have a headache, I get a headache pretty much every day from teaching and working after. About Harper: she is growing up so fast! When we say, "I love you" to her, she usually says, "yeah" we're working on, "I love you too" sometimes she'll say, "I love you much." It's cute! Mom and dad watch her every day and Steve's been taking her and picking her up, so it's been nice for me! I just have this week and next week, then it's spring break (for a whole week)! Then after that, I only have like 2 1/2 weeks left of student teaching! I can't wait to be done and graduated!"
