Happy Birthday Mom!

We had my mom's birthday party tonight. I was in charge of the food. So Steve and I went up earlier to get the food cooking. We had Poppy Seed Chicken, Blueberry muffins, Corn, and Jello. After I got the muffin batter made, I put the rice on the stove, then turned back to the muffins to put the batter in the tins. Owen was sitting at the counter and said so proudly, "Look Hissa (Melissa) I put Alex (the lion from Madagascar) in there." So I looked in the batter bowl and there was the Alex the Lion kid meal toy face down in the batter! It was pretty funny! So I took it out and asked Owen if he wanted to lick the batter off and he said, "No, that's gross." Then Steve asked Owen if he wanted to go play with him and Owen got really excited, so they went and put in a movie.
My mom kept trying to help, so I kept yelling at Amberly to help me so that mom wouldn't have to on her birthday. It was fun to boss people around all evening (they'll think twice before putting me in charge again)!
The night turned out to be a success and we even got to enjoy the Clark family's company!
My mom loved her cake that I made. It was heartbreaking to have to cut it and eat it after all of that hard work!
