I'm actually writing this post April 29,10. Harper loves sleeping in her own room. She can now make it through the night without having a bottle. She'll have her last bottle anywhere between 7:30-8:30pm and she'll fall asleep around 9:00-10:00pm. Lately she's been waking up around 2:30-3:30am crying, it's not a desperate cry, so I'll let her cry for about 5 minutes then I'll go in and she'll be licking her hand, so I put her binky back in her mouth. She'll do this a couple times and then be fine. Sometimes when I get sick of getting up, I'll just rock her back to sleep, but I want her to be able to put herself back to sleep, so I try not to rock her, but sometimes I just have to. She can usually make it until about 6:30-7:30am until she's hungry again. She'll eat and fall back asleep within an hour and sleep for a couple hours, so I usually fall back asleep too! Steve will sometimes get up with her too, so that's been nice. I try to let him sleep since he has to get up and go to work, but there are times when I just can't pull myself out of bed and he'll get up.

Big Girl Crib
We put Harper in her own crib in her own room tonight. She will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. We were planning on having her in our room until she was like 3 months old, but my Melanie and Amy said their kids were in their own rooms sleeping through the night by this age. So we thought we'd try it. It was really quite sad to put her in her own room, we missed having her in our room (Steve was especially sad), but we all slept so much better. She's going to have to sleep in her own room sometime, so the sooner the better!
This is how her first night went:
9:30pm: ate 5 oz
11:30pm: fell asleep, put her in her crib
3:00am: ate 5 oz
3:50am: fell asleep
7:30am: ate 5 oz
8:30am: fell asleep
(this picture was actually taken April 27,10).
I love being home with her. I can't imagine having to go to work. I look up to all working moms (and stay at home moms), I would be so exhausted if I had to get up and get ready for work instead of going back to sleep in the morning. And how hard would it be to leave your baby with a babysitter. I'm sure I'll be doing it soon enough, so I'm just enjoying being home and sleeping!
Just some other fun things:
-Harper has been "talking" a lot lately. It is so cute! I love it.
-Sometimes when she's being held, she'll start screaming bloody murder, so you'll try every position, bouncing, rocking, everything, but nothing will work. Then you lay her down and she'll stop crying and be just fine!
-In the morning when I go in her room, she'll have the grumpiest, furrowed brow (but still very cute) look on her face and then I start talking to her and she'll smile the biggest, sweetest smile. I should try to get pictures cause it is so cute!
-Her neck is getting strong, she can hold her head up pretty good.
-She hates her half-way burp when eating. She'll just cry until she gets her bottle back in her mouth.
-Her hair is starting to grow back on top of her head, but she is rubbing it off the sides and back now. I find it in her crib.

Yahoo for sleeping through the night! Deegan has always been a good little sleeper and only would wake up once in the night fromt he start. He has been sleeping through the night (9:30/10pm-7:00/8am)for a few months now and it is nice. You are smart to try to let her fall asleep on her own. That is what we did and now after his bedtime routine, we just lay him down, give him his binky and within a few minutes he is out! He is still in our room though. :) He sleeps great, we sleep great and I like having him there. ha ha. Eric says 6 months is the limit so I guess I will be moving him out in a couple weeks. It is so nice to have them sleep great so I am happy for you!
I MISS HER!!!! and YOU TOO!!! your baby is so precious!!!
I love it!! Now to get my kids to sleep through the night. I guess it is my own fault. I cant wait to see her again.
