Willie Nelson

I took Steve to his very first concert today! It was Willie Nelson at Red Butte Gardens at the University of Utah. This was my first outdoor concert, so I was pretty excited. The tickets sold out within hours of going on sale, so we bought ours from a guy on ksl. Mom and dad watched Harper for us.
The seats were all general admission. We didn't feel the need to go stand in line at 7am, so we were in the back, but the seats weren't bad. Everyone just brought low to the ground lawn chairs and blankets. It was really weird because outside food and drinks were allowed in and a lot of people brought like real wine glasses from home and walked around with them. We didn't understand it.
Steve bought a couple T-shirts for himself and this Willie doll for Harper. Even though the doll is pretty hideous and might give her nightmares, I thought it was cute that he wanted to get it for her. (When we picked Harper up, we took the doll in to show my parents and my mom was like, "I hope you're not going to put that in her cute room." It was pretty funny!)
This is the guy that opened for Willie and I can't remember his name, but he was pretty good.
It got pretty chilly when the sun went down.
I took a few pictures of Willie, but since it was dark, they didn't turn out. It was a good concert and really long. We were surprised with how many songs he played, he just kept going and going. The crowd stood up the entire time Willie played and my legs were getting tired. There were quite a few songs that I didn't know because most of his songs that I know and like are duets, so he didn't play those. I was pretty bummed about that, but it was still fun. And Steve had a great time at his first concert!
