The day that Steve has been waiting for his whole life finally arrived! We parked in a field and they had school buses shuttle us up to the track. Harper loved her first ride on a school bus.
It was a huge track on the hillside just off of the freeway. There were about 70,000 people there, it was pretty crazy! A lot of people really take pride in the USA, I got some pictures of them (mainly just to entertain myself)
It was so blasted hot! There was no shade, no clouds in the sky to hide us from the sun, and no breeze at all. Harper did awesome, but I may have suffered just a little (note the pictures below)

The US won it again! It was cool to see all the European riders (says Steve, I don't have a clue who they are). Chad Reed wasn't there, so there wasn't much for me to do (or look at)! He is the only exception to the rule that you have to be nerdy and ugly to ride professional motocross.
We got a little lost in the parking lot after the race, but we eventually found our car.
Chris and Kim had us over for dinner which was so nice. Chris fixed us up the most refreshing lemonade drink. We had lasagna, salad, and garlic bread and it was delicious. Their darling girls entertained us the rest of the night. We went back to the hotel and the next day and made the long drive back to Richmond.
