Toilet

Harper had her 18 month check up and shots today. We decided to switch doctors, not because I didn't like Dr. Stevens, but because I felt (and Amy encouraged me) that she should be going to a real pediatrician. Dr. Garg did a presentation on nutrition at Harper's day care a while ago and I really liked her and her focus on nutrition. So we tried her out today! I really liked her. Except for the fact that she said Harper has a huge head, I wanted to say, "You should see some of her cousin's heads!" Because I have never thought that Harper had a big head, but I guess she was in the 96th percentile for head circumference, so whatever! Dr. Garg said she would request Harper's records from Dr. Stevens to make sure she hasn't had a drastic change in her head size, which I'm sure she hasn't, so I'm not worried about it. Just a little bugged!
Harper weighs 24lbs 9oz and is in the 50th percentile for weight.
She is 32.5 in and is in the 68th percentile for height.
Harper passed all of the questions Dr. Garg asked me about: talking, feeding herself, eating, understanding commands, responding to her name, oh I guess there was one she didn't pass and that was how much milk she drinks. She only drinks about a cup a day, if that. So the Dr. said we need to give her cheese or yogurt everyday. She loves cheese, so that won't be hard. She used to like yogurt, but she hasn't had it in awhile, so we'll see if she'll eat it.
Dr. Garg said she looked good. When she looked in her ears, she asked me if she's ever had an ear infection before and I said "no," then she asked if she was sick recently and she did have a runny nose and a little bit of a cough last week, so she said she may have had an ear infection, but it's getting better so she's not going to do anything about it unless Harper starts to get fussy or pull at her ear. I had no idea! She is a good baby when she is sick.
She got 3 shots today and she cried as soon as the nurse walked in the room. It was so sad. But then she got a sucker after and was okay.
I liked Dr. Garg and her office.
After Harper's doctor appointment, I had to go to the school to get my advisers signatures for my student teaching application (it's getting so close)! So I dropped Harper off at mom and dad's again and when I went to pick her up, I was talking to my mom for a bit and Harper came out with a piece of toilet paper, then she disappeared. So mom and I continued talking, then all of a sudden, mom says, "I hear sloshing, she's in the toilet." So we ran to the bathroom and she had both her arms in the toilet swirling around toilet paper! That is the first time she has played in the toilet, I thought she might have skipped that step in growing up, but she didn't!
