Our first Sunday dinner

Steve decided that he wanted to have the family over for Sunday dinner. As you can see in the post about our big move, we had quite a bit of work cut out for us. But we pulled together and got the kitchen and living room in decent order for our guests. It was actually a good thing to have them over so soon because it gave us a reason to clear out the kitchen and living room, otherwise, there would junk in them for weeks to come.

We cooked "Lemon-Chicken Schnitzel and Roasted Potatoes" (courtesy of Rachael Ray), mom made rolls and brought her yummy jam, the Clark's brought fruit, the Harris's brought caramel popcorn, and Michelle brought no-bakes.

There were 16 of us, so we had three different tables to fit all of us in the kitchen. We had almost our whole family there plus Michelle. Nick wasn't able to make it and neither were the Cope's. We missed you guys and wish you could have been there. It's not the same without you guys.

The Clarks brought us this darling basket with darling balls in it along with this cute "love" magnet. It was really sweet and totally unexpected. Thanks Clarks! It was nice to add some decor to the kitchen. I need to hire Melanie to decorate my house - she's really good at it!

After dinner, we all went on a walk around the neighborhood. There were a lot of people out and everyone was really friendly. We actually went on a walk because it was so hot in our house because the AC wasn't working. Steve and I assumed that it would work, but we tried turning it on Saturday and nothing happened. I won't tell you, but on Monday, Steve was looking at the AC unit and messed around with it a bit and discovered that he somehow had it plugged in upside down! So now our AC works. Sorry guys for making you sweat. The walk was fun anyway and there wasn't really anything to do at our house anyway, so it worked out!

We all went for round two of the walk (just around our subdivision) while Steve, Brinlie, and Brooklyn stayed home and played "charrades." They were having a good time.
It was a good day! I love having family over and it probably won't happen a ton since we live out in the boonies.
