Tonight for dinner, we had corn on the cob, nothing else (that's how we always did it growing up.) This was fresh from Steve's parent's garden. It was delicious! Probably the best corn we've had all year. We didn't eat this whole plate full (I know my mom could have, no problem.) A lot of the ears didn't get as big as they were supposed to, but they still tasted delish.
I'm just going to rant and rave for a minute about my "new" corn on the cob accessory discoveries! I have always seen these little corn on the cob skewers in stores, but had never used them - until this year. We bought some at our favorite "kitchen" store in Park City last time we were there. They are so handy! Now the butter doesn't drip down your arms.
Next, this awesome butter gadget. I used one up at my mom's last year and I thought that it was the best invention ever (as far as corn on the cob goes!) Buttering corn with a knife is so hard, it's impossible to keep the butter on the knife. So, last year, I bought the spray on butter, which was really nice. But this year we bought this handy little tool, I believe at that same store in Park City. Nothing tops this thing!
I'm sure most of you are reading this thinking, "what a moron, why is she getting so excited about corn on the cob." If you are thinking that or anything along those lines, please don't burst my bubble and keep those comments to yourself!
