I had a Doctor's appointment on Tuesday, pretty standard. The doctor asked if I've been having contractions and I told her not that I know of, but she said that I probably have been and described what they feel like and I guess I probably have. Everything looked good, except for the baby is measuring kind of small. I'm 34 weeks and she is measuring 32 inches. So the doctor said that she wasn't too worried, but she ordered an ultrasound for me, just in case.
I had the ultrasound on Wednesday and mom went with me. The ultrasound tech didn't say much, but he measured her head, stomach, and thigh bone. He measured the amniotic fluid and looked around at stuff that we could not even tell what it was. He was pretty quick and didn't really explain things, but when he was done he said that everything looked fine and he'd give it to the doctor to look at.
After my mom and I left, we went home and told Amy about it and as we were telling her, we were getting confused why we didn't even really see the baby, and mad that he didn't show us more, and see what position she was in or anything (I guess he was just doing what needed to be done and that was it) but the more we talked about it the madder we got about the situation. It made me worry a little bit too, just because he wasn't too reassuring or friendly.
So I called the doctor's office later Wednesday afternoon to see if the doctor had a chance to look at it yet, but it was her day off, so of course she hadn't looked at it yet.
This afternoon, I called again and left a message with the receptionist. After 5:00 passed and I still hadn't heard anything, I figured it would be another day until I heard back from the doctor's office. But then I got a phone call at about 5:45 and it was the doctor's nurse and she said that the doctor looked at it and said everything looked fine, the baby is just a little small for my due date is all. I was very glad to hear that everything is fine!
