Supercross

Steve and I went to Supercross today. Thanks to Governor Huntsman for getting Supercross back in Utah. Steve took me 5 years ago, when we were dating, to my very first Supercross at Rice/Eccles Stadium. Since then, it hasn't been back to UT, until this year. We went early so we could watch practice/qualifying.

Here is the track. It was pretty muddy during practice, but dried up a little bit by the time the race started.

More practicing/qualifying

Here's my Chad Reed!

The pits

Reed's bike getting worked on before the main event.

This was Chad Reed's pit. Look at the guy in the red beanie, then right in front of him is Chad Reed signing autographs. I couldn't get a better picture because people kept getting in my way.

Just some way awesome bikes in the pits. Steve and I hung out under this tent for quite some time during the tumultuous downpour.

Some weird, random guy asked me who this girl painted on the bike was. After he left, I wished I would have said, "your mom."

Ivan Tedesco

"The Man" Roger DeCoster. He's an old school motocrosser from Belgium who won 5 world championships in the 70's. Steve knows his motocross history!

Here is Roger signing Steve's hat. He was too chicken to get his picture taken with him!

The famous autograph

Here we are again - we were done walking around the pits, so we walked around the stadium for like an hour to keep out of the rain. I am sporting my free Mike Alessi beanie that I was very thankful to get.

The starting line at the main event

Chad Reed (who else?!)

Reed again!

Reed and Stewart

Reed and Stewart battling it out
Well, it was a good race up until Stewart's gay teammate ran into Reed. Reed stayed on his bike, but it put him too far back to catch Stewart in the remaining laps. It was a bummer of a deal. Reed was riding awesome all night, he totally should have won! Vegas will be interesting next week. Wish we were going again.
