Brinlie Clark turned 4 years old today! She was loving her birthday!
We had a party for her at mom and dad's house. Melanie is in the hospital, so her aunts and grandma and grandpa gave her a party today. A little bit about Melanie being in the hospital: she had a baby about a week and a half ago and has had really bad migraines, is really pale, and hurts where her epidural was. If you know my sister Melanie then you know that it is not like Melanie to get sick or complain about being sick or having headaches. She had been staying home from family get-togethers (which is not like her at ALL). We are all really worried about her and hope the doctors can figure out what is wrong and can treat her to get better. She went to the ER yesterday and was admitted last night to ICU. They are giving her major pain killers and have done several tests, but still don't know for sure what is causing her pain. Dad, Dave, and Jason gave her a blessing last night. We've all been helping out with the kids. Amy and I were talking about how tough Melanie is - just like our Grandpa Hansen. On Sunday night, Steve, mom, and I stopped by the hospital to see Melanie and it absolutely broke my heart. She wasn't her normal, happy self. She was in so much pain. She could barely talk. We had Korver with us because he was sleeping over with my mom (dad had taken the rest of the kids home so they could get to school in the morning). Dave held Korver up for Melanie to see him and tears just started rolling down her face. Then my mom and I both start crying too. I hope Melanie doesn't mind me sharing this on my blog, but it just broke my heart and made me realize how thankful I need to be for my health and how precious life really is. That is the second time in my life that I have seen my oldest sister cry - the first time was at my grandpa's funeral. I love Melanie so much and am praying for her to get better. It kills me to see her in so much pain.
On a lighter note, here are some things about Brinlie:
-She loves Princesses
-She has a really fun personality
-She can act really crazy sometimes
-She doesn't like her younger cousins to play in her room and mess things up
-She can pull some really funny faces
-She is not the baby of her family anymore - she has a new baby brother
-She loves to get her fingernails and toenails painted
-She loves to be in charge
-She loves to play dress ups
-She is a sweet pickle and also a naughty dragon
We love you Brinlie!
