Second Chance 5k

Today was the Second Chance Organ Donor 5k. Most of my sisters have done it every year for 5 years now. I have done it a few times and wasn't planning on doing it this year until I got peer pressured into it. Also, Angela bought me orange sweat bands, so what choice did I have?! It was actually pretty fun and it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I gave into peer pressure and did it!

Here is our group: Angela Cope, Harrison Duvall (Angela's nephew on Rich's side of the family), Alex Gowon, Amberly Oliver, Brandon Keller, Monica Oliver, Me, Alexa Gowon, Brittany Jones (Mandi's friend), Amy & Jason Harris, Rich Cope, Mandi Keller, AJ Jensen (Mandi's friend), and Billy (Brittany's friend). We had quite the group!

Here is the start. About 200 people participated. I like when there are a lot of people because then I know that I won't be last!

Rich came in first overall! He did it in like 18 or 19 minutes.

Jason came in second out of our group.

Monica came in 3rd out of our group.

Next was Brittany Jones

Harrison Duvall and I came in next. I'm not sure who beat out of the two of us. About halfway through, I was able to catch up with him and Alex and we all ran together the rest of the way. I kept begging Alex to sing to me because my Ipod broke a couple weeks ago, but he wouldn't.

Alex came in next

Angela came in right behind Alex.

Me and Harrison just waiting for the others. Harrison threw up a lot when we finished. It was mostly just water. I felt like throwing up too, but luckily I didn't. I felt bad for Harrison.

Amy and Alexa. Don't be fooled, they only started to run when they saw the finish line. Amy is 28 weeks pregnant after all!

Dad and Angela. Dad held all of our keys and was our photographer. Thanks dad!

The last to finish were AJ, Brandon, Amberly, and Mandi. Rich went to help drag Amberly across the finish line. Yesterday, Rich took Amberly for quite a long run. They ran the whole course of the race and then some. Amberly had blisters and was sore so she didn't want to run today, but she was forced to. When it was over, she was glad she did it! Amy asked the announcer to cheer for Amberly over the megaphone, so he did. It was cute! Mandi is always so nice to walk with Amberly, even though Amberly is sometimes rude to her and calls her names.

Some of the Norman family (Steve's cousins, aunt, and uncle).

Here we all are after the race: Brandon, Monica, Angela, Melissa, Rich, Amy, Jason, Brittany, Billy, Alex, Harrison, Alexa, Amberly, and Mandi, & AJ
