4 Years

4 years ago today, Steve and I got married in the Logan Temple. Best day of our lives! I can't believe it's been 4 years already.

To celebrate, I took off work early and we headed down to Salt Lake to The Gateway. We did a little shopping and then went to Build A Bear. It was the best time ever!
Here is Steve just after his bear got stuffed.

Here I am - stuffing my bear. (This worker that helped us was super nice, but had THE hairiest boy legs I have ever seen! When I saw her legs, I had to do a double take to make sure that she was a girl. When we left, I asked Steve if he'd noticed, but he didn't. I don't know how he missed it. You can't tell very well in the picture, but they were hairy!)

After our bears got stuffed, we got to put the hearts in. But before we put them in we had to rub it in our hands to warm it up. Then we rubbed it on our heads so that it would be smart. Rubbed it on our nose so that it wouldn't smell bad. Rubbed it on our hearts to bring it to life. Made a wish, kissed it, and put it in our bear. Steve felt dumb doing all that, but I thought it was cute!
After the bears got their hearts, we got to give them a bath to get the extra fluff off of them. Steve scrubbed his bear really well, getting his armpits and all!

Then we got to pick out clothes for our bears. There were so many to choose from! They had all sorts of stuff...clothes, underwear, wigs, purses, sunglasses, shoes, blow up love seats, tents....you name it.
After we dressed our bears, we registered them in the computer and got their birth certificates.

The Bear Promise

Here we are with Marvin & Muggies! The worker probably thought we were weird, but we both had a blast building our bears. (Now I know why my nieces and nephews always want to go there!)

Once we were done with our bears, they put them in a cute box that is also a little house that the worker said we could color when we get home!

We got on the road again and headed to Ogden to Prairie Schooner. It's Steve's favorite restaurant. I used to take him for his birthday, but we haven't been in a couple years, so that's where we decided we would go. It is a really fun atmosphere there and the food is way good! You get your own covered wagon to sit in and you have your own lantern in there with a dimmer switch. As we were just sitting there, I dimmed it a little and he told me I had to wait until we got our food. So after we got our food, I dimmed it and he was like, "Hey I can't see my food. What if I cut my finger off and take a bite out of it." He's a dork. But anyway. It's pretty pricey, so we don't go there very often, but when we do, it does not disappoint! We both got steaks and if you're wondering what Steve is doing in the picture on the bottom... he's thoroughly enjoying his steak. I didn't get the real face he pulled when he took his first bite on camera, so he reenacted it for me....I'm not sure which one was worse!

When we got home, we exchanged our bears and other gifts. Steve got me a gift card to Hobby Lobby, which he thought was dumb. But he told me he shopped in the mall for a couple hours, but couldn't decide what to get me. So he went to Hobby Lobby and shopped there for a couple hours and kept picking up stuff to get me, but would decide not to get it. So he got me a gift card, which I will enjoy! I got him the same old...a hat, a t-shirt, a DVD (Australia), and some flip flops.
What a great day!

How fun!! That is such a good idea Melissa. I love the bears. And the Hobby Lobby gift card is fabulous. People always think gift cards are lame but I love them because then you get to go shopping for free and get stuff you know you want! Congrats! 4 years went by way fast for us too!
