Owen and I met Amy, Jason, Monica, Amberly, mom, and Brooklyn for lunch at Firehouse in Smithfield. Monica had been moving stuff today to her new house in Smithfield so we stopped by after lunch to help her unload and to look at her new furniture.
Amy, Jason, Owen, and Brooklyn came to my house for craft day.
Amy and I went to Rod Works a few weeks ago and saw the cutest Easter wreaths that were made of feathers and eggs. I wanted to buy one so bad, but Amy wouldn't let me because "we could totally make that." We always say that about cute things we see, but never end up making them. So, I didn't buy it and made her promise me that we would make them. We bought our eggs at Tai Pan that same day so we would for sure make them.
We bought feather boas from Hobby Lobby with our 40% off coupons. We thought we'd be able to buy the boas from a dollar store or six star, but had no luck. So they were a little more expensive than we thought they'd be.
We also bought some floral pins from Hobby Lobby that worked wonders. Thanks to mom for going with us and telling us what to get.
Then we just got straw wreaths (which were cheaper than styrofoam - go figure). We wrapped the boa around the wreath and stuck the pins in to hold it in place.
We pinned and hot glued the eggs on. Brooklyn loved helping with the hot glue. I was really nervous that she would burn her fingers, but she didn't.
The finished product
Just being silly
I was impressed by how fast and easy they were to make! We only saved a little bit of money making them, but we made great memories. I also appreciate it a lot more since I made it instead of just bought it.
Thanks for the fun craft day Amy! Let's do it again!

i hope you had enough to make me one!!! those turned out way cuter than i had imagined them to be.
good job guys!!
O a, SO making one. you inspired me :) Just out of curiosity, how much did it make the boas from Hobby Lobby? I am going to look online but wanted something to compare.
Question, do you make the date of your posts when they actually happened or are the dates the day you post them? Sometimes I click your blog and there are tons of new post but it never updates you on my blog list. Just curious :)
Friday craft day is my favorite. see sis...we CAN totally make stuff!!! let's do it again.
The boas at Hobby Lobby were like $8. It took about 1 1/4 boas.
Yeah, I change the date to when it actually happened. I just like it better that way! Sorry it doesn't show up on your blog list.
I love that you get to have Owen over! What a cute guy! Your wreath's are adorable, and it sounds like they were lots of fun to make also!
