First Day of School

I'm not a college drop out after all (at least not this semester)! I went back for the Spring '08 semester and was planning on finishing up my degree, but when I registered for Fall '08 semester, office politics at work kicked in and I was not able to go. Lucky for me, now I don't have to worry about work (or at least a couple people at work) getting in the way! I'm in it for good this time. I figure it's now or never. It will be hard to go to school after the baby is born, but I'll just have to push through, because it's not going to get any easier as my baby grows and as our family grows. I've just had this feeling lately that I need to finish school and since I got laid off, it was totally clear to me that I need to graduate.

Jason left me a surprise video on my camera while I was at class. He's a cute brother-in-law!

I took my bike up to my parent's house yesterday so that I can park my car there and ride my bike to school. I was running a little late, so I had dad take a couple pictures of me on my bike before I left.

Jason had a little photo shoot with my camera (he also parked at my parents and rode his bike to class and he got back before I did). He has been going to school for a long time and is getting really close to graduation. Way to go Jas - you're my inspiration! (He took a really ugly picture of himself that I was going to post, but couldn't, because it was too ugly)!

I have an afternoon class on Mondays that gets out at 4:15. Amberly goes to institute on Mondays and Wednesdays. After class, I went and waited outside the institute building for Amberly and we walked home together. It was a good time. It took us 40 minutes to walk home (when it takes me 10 minutes to ride my bike). But it's totally worth the time spent with my sister! It feels good to get some exercise in. I've been slacking lately, so I will really enjoy riding my bike every day. And even though it only takes 10 minutes to get to school, it's not that easy for me. I'm way out of shape. My legs were burning, but it felt good to be working them again. Also my bum needs to get used to the bike seat, because it hurt also!

When I got back to mom and dad's after class, my mom had these beautiful flowers and yummy treats for me! She is the best mom ever! She got me my favorite Meringue and Thumbprint cookies from Shaffer's Bakery. Thanks mom!

Memory time:

When we were growing up, my mom always had Linda's Loft for us. The day before school, she'd get all these school supplies, treats, and a couple outfits and set them up in the living room. Then we would get to go shopping and pick out what we wanted. She was the cashier and after she'd ring up our totals, she'd always give us like a 75% off discount. I sometimes got a little jealous of my friends when they'd get to go to real stores and pick out whatever they wanted for school. But the memories of Linda's Loft are way better than going to a real store. We really looked forward to it every year. I hope to make some of the same memories with my kids that my mom has made with us. Thanks for making everything so special mom!

I am glad we get to go to school together, other than the fact that we don't really GO TO school together or see each other at school. It's still fun knowing that you are somewhere around. Ummm a picture of me too ugly?!?!
