Sod Party!

Steve and I worked in the yard pretty much all day Saturday finishing up the sprinklers and getting ready for sod.
The sod was supposed to be delivered at 5:00 today. It was about 5:20 when Steve called them because it wasn't here yet. The guy he talked to asked Steve if he lives in Providence and Steve was like, "no, Richmond." And the guy was like, "Oh, I'm glad you called because we didn't write down the town or your phone number." Morons. So, we had to wait for the driver to get here from Wellsville.
We had almost everyone from both of our families come and help. It was great!

Lindsay, Stetson, Kendrick, McKall, and Stone were really good supervisors! (I didn't know Kendrick was picking his nose and I can't tell if he was really picking or just being funny).

Stone, Owen, and Brooklyn

I love this picture of Natalie poking her head up from behind the sod.

Nixon
I tried to help and I only got one piece laid before I got yelled at by Steve's family not to help. Okay, they didn't yell at me, but they told me I shouldn't be helping. So I got to take pictures. I felt dumb for not helping.
They were laying it so fast! It was pretty incredible! Stone liked to watch Grandpa Vaughn cut around the sprinkler heads.

Kayci and Tug were really cute and tried to tag-team it and help.

They had it almost all laid by the time the guy was done unloading the palettes.

Lindsay, Stetson, and Kennedy

The side of the house.

Jake was a good helper. He worked so hard that he "just started to get starving."

I was feeding Nixon and Amy took my camera from me to take some pictures and McCoy jumped up on this palette, so I told her to go take a picture of him. I told her she'd have to sneak up on him because he doesn't smile for pictures. I don't know if he grew out of his camera shyness or if it was because Amy was taking the picture, but he smiled for her.

He even struck a pose for her!

Melanie even helped in her nice work clothes. Apparently I owe her a new pair of shoes.

Finishing up with the front yard.
It only took about an hour and a half to get the whole yard done!
Afterwards, we had burgers, salads, watermelon, brownies, and cascos. It was fun to have everyone over and we really appreciated everyone's help!

Wow that is impressive. We wanted to make it but by the time we were done with our stuff it was after 7 and we thought you would be done. Sounds like you were pretty close!! I wondered if you would be helping and was thinking you probably shouldn't so I am glad you got "yelled" at. :)
