When I got home from work today, Steve wasn't home. The mail was on the counter so I knew he had been home. I was going to call him to see where he was, but decided not to. I was in on the computer when he got home. He came running in the house and said "hi" as he passed and told me not to go in the spare bedroom. So I asked what he was doing, but he wouldn't say. So I just waited patiently. Then he came out needing tape, scissors, and a marker. I was pretty sure he was wrapping something. So I asked again what he was doing, but he wouldn't say. I didn't push it. A couple minutes later, he handed me this wrapped gift. I opened it and it was a new Ipod Nano! And it was hot pink!
The day I got my RIF letter at work, I came home and told Steve. After we had a good cry (we're totally over it now) he was like, "Let's go do something fun to get your mind off of it. Let's got shopping. Let's go buy you an Ipod." So I was like, "You don't need to buy me an Ipod." So we decided we'd go shopping. We ended up at the new Wal Mart and looked at he Ipods. I knew if I was getting an Ipod, Steve would get one too because after he ruined my first one, I told him he couldn't touch my new one. Steve would have bought them then and there, but I didn't feel good about just buying ourselves Ipods (especially when I just lost my job). I told him I'd rather use his credit card points and get gift cards from Best Buy and get them there. So that is what he did.
I knew he had ordered the gift cards. And they had just came in the mail today, so Steve went out immediately and picked up our Ipods. He even made them track down a hot pink one for me!
Thanks Steve and Citi Cards for the new Ipod Nano! It was a fun surprise!

I didn't know you lost your job! That sucks! I have wanted a Nano for a while but I really want the purple one. Both are fabulous colors though! :) And wouldn't you know, THREE new birthday posts!!!! I love it.
