I had my first doctor's appointment today with Dr. Craig. Steve really wanted to go, but he couldn't get off work (he probably could have, but he couldn't tell Rob because we haven't told anyone yet). Dr. Craig talked with me for a little bit, did a pap smear, and then did an ultrasound. Guess what....there was a baby in there. My due date is Feb. 13, 2010 (when I called to schedule my appointment, they told me my due date was Feb. 14). It was crazy and incredible to see! She printed out pictures for me. It feels a little more real now that I got to see the baby, but it's still really weird. I had to get my blood drawn after. Of course, I get the student to draw my blood. They had to fill 5 viles full of my blood. I think she got 2 full from one arm, but didn't have the needle positioned right, so she had to go to my other arm. I don't do well with drawing blood. Last time I donated blood I passed out. So when she was filling her last vile, I told her I was starting to feel light-headed. When she was done, I sat in a recliner for a while. Another nurse walked by and asked if I wanted juice because I was really pale. So she got me some juice and I drank it and laid there for awhile longer while everyone that passed just looked at me and smiled. It was awkward. When I was feeling better, I had to do a urine test and then I got to leave.
Steve called me to see if I wanted to go to El Sol for lunch. So I met him, Vaughn, Rob, Kamee, and Kayci there for Rob's birthday lunch. After lunch, Steve came to my car and I showed him the ultrasound pictures. He was really excited. We won't find out what it is until my 20 week appointment and we'll make sure Steve can go to that one.
