A couple weeks ago, Steve and I decided we would head up to the motocross race in Washougal, Washington. It is not far from Portland, Oregon. I have a cousin who lives in Portland, so we made arrangements to stay with her and her husband.
Here we are at the beginning of our journey. I think I took this picture around the Snowville area. We left our house around 6:00 pm.
I entertained myself with a Pampered Chef catalog, magazines, and face shadow puppets on my headrest. We were driving into the sun and I caught a glimpse of a weird-looking shadow on my headrest through my side mirror. Come to find out, that weird-looking shadow was my face! So I laughed my head off and continued with the face shadow puppets for a few minutes.
We drove until we could no longer keep our eyes open. And by "we" I mean Steve. I was asleep hours ago.
We ended up in Baker City around midnight and found this cute little motel.
The Oregon Trail Motel.
We didn't mind that it was a dive. We just wanted a place to sleep and shower.
The swimming pool was in the middle of the parking lot. Too bad we couldn't stay long enough to swim!
